Rory Gallagher
One of the most influential guitar players in the history of Irish music, Rory Gallagher played an earthy, stripped-down brand of blues rock that touched everyone who heard it. Fronting a classic power trio, Gallagher effortlessly blended classic blues and rock with traditional Irish musical forms. Everyone from Eric Clapton and Slash to the Edge and Johnny Marr call themselves fans, and the Rolling Stones even asked Gallagher to join the band in 1975. A true virtuouso, he passed away in 1995.
