Pam Tillis
The daughter of country singer Mel Tillis, Pam Tillis had no wish to follow in her father's country footsteps, although she had ambitions to sing and write songs. After her education at the University of Tennessee, she relocated to Nashville, where she sang and wrote in various styles (jazz, rock, R&B, and pop). She had her first country chart success in 1984 with "Goodbye Highway," although she didn't return to the charts until 1990. A string of hits followed, including the 1995 chart-topper "Mi Vida Loca."
