Everything But The Girl
British duo Everything But the Girl has always consisted of singer Tracey Thorn and instrumentalist Ben Watt, but the pair's sound radically transformed over the years. They began in the early 1980s as purveyors of quiet, jazzy folk-pop. By the mid-'90s, they had fully embraced dance music and electronica, incorporating drum-and-bass and trip-hop into their moody style. Watt's recovery from a rare, life-threatening illness gave the group itself a new lease on life, and they ended the '90s as relevant as they were at the beginning of their career.
