Heart: Nancy Wilson , Ann Wilson.
With a name like Heart, the long-running Seattle-based rock act clearly knows its way around romantic tunes. This 12-track Legacy collection draws from various studio albums and live performances between 1977 and 2005, always keeping its sights on Ann and Nancy Wilson's love-themed songs. The tracks include a stirring concert rendition of "Magic Man," the dreamy, Led Zep-influenced "Love Alive," and, naturally, the late-'80s power ballad "What About Love." Although it doesn't serve as a greatest-hits disc ("Barracuda" and other non-amorous gems are absent), LOVE SONGS does serve as a solid Heart compilation that focuses on the Wilson sisters' apparent favorite subject.
Tracklist
Heart
Led by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, Heart struck a crucial blow for feminisim in the male-dominated world of '70s rock. They could switch from powerful, Zeppelin-like grandeur to gorgeous acoustic ballads in the blink of an eye and turned out a stream of radio staples. By the '80s, they were churning out slick pop, but the sisters re-emerged in the '90s in stripped-down acoustic duo format as the Lovemongers.
