You, The Night...& The Music

One of the more criminally overlooked British bands of the '90s finally gets the expanded re-master/reissue treatment here. Gallon Drunk were a direct descendent of James Chance and the downtown No Wave scene--a dance band that was equal parts party music gone wrong and hell-wrought thrash and noise. This impressive debut kept up the torrid pace of their early hit singles, and placed the band in the pantheon of American Gothic freaks such as the Cramps and Gun Club. Gallon Drunk were a truly visionary band, and--for the '90s--total fish out of water. This reissue features seven bonus tracks, including a killer take on the Silver Apple's cover of the bluegrass chestnut "Ruby."
