Ann Arbor, Michigan-based producer Tadd Mullinix has an alias for each style of music he creates, among them acid house as James T. Cotton, SK-1 for drum & bass, and most successfully his hip-hop project, Dabrye. Expanding upon the clipped, synthetic thump of his mostly instrumental debut, ONE/THREE, his follow-up full-length, TWO/THREE, fleshes out the arrangements and fills up the empty spaces with a healthy dose of boom bap. Elsewhere, stylized IDM flourishes and a coterie of notable guest MCs--including MF Doom, Jay Dee, and Guilty Simpson--round out this solid set.
