Though they're considered 1980s industrial dance music pioneers, the Vancouver band Front Line Assembly were largely forgotten in the genre's ensuing rise in popularity. This injustice goes some way to being redressed on the eminently commercial ARTIFICIAL SOLDIER, which is packed with the kind of synthesized, hard-driving, metallic, yet dance-oriented material that's catnip both to industrial fans and to aficionados of lighter club fare. Guest vocals from Covenant's Eskil Simonsson and Front 242's Jean-Luc De Meyer are additional icing on the disco biscuit.
