As one of reggae's unsung producers, Carlton Patterson's output for his own Black & White imprint was a veritable roster of the finest vocalists and DJ's of the period. Patterson recorded early sides from then newcomers like Barrington Levy, Eek-A-Mouse, and Dillinger, and the original 45s, along with their dub B-sides--featuring mixes from King Tubby--have long been cherished by collectors. BLACK & WHITE IN DUB collects those key Tubby mixes from the early to mid 1970s, which all feature his trademark echo effects and seismic thunderclaps (courtesy of a Fisher reverb unit). This collection of vintage dub cuts is essential for roots music fans and dub aficionados alike.
