Emerging from the fertile Baltimore experimental music community, the Lexie Mountain Boys are an all-female troupe specializing in a curious amalgam of a cappella and performance art-based theatrics. Their debut album, SACRED VACATION is a bizarre hodgepodge of doo-wop inspired vocalizations, ritual chanting, and body-based percussion. Largely recorded in one take without overdubs, the album replicates the spontaneous energy and outré slapstick of the group's now legendary live performances.
