After the demise of Two Lane Blacktop, guitarist, singer, and songwriter Pip Brown left her native New Zealand to find her own voice. Brown achieved her goal with Ladyhawke, a project that recalls 1980s new wave and synth pop, and on which she plays all the instruments. The dense and eminently catchy "Paris is Burning," a single from her self-titled full-length debut, is a case in point, and this 7-track remix EP, which includes mixes from Peaches, Cut Copy, and Alex Gopher, shows just how pliable Brown's fun, hooky rock can be.
